Pia's guide to Hong Kong
Hong Kong is hard to resist: a vibrant city of skyscrapers and traditions, where you can go from a bustling food market to a peaceful beach in an instant. Pia shares her favourite addresses for the perfect getaway.
Happy Café:
In the morning, there's nothing better than a coffee and a traditional 'Pineapple Bun', an ultra-crisp pastry. At Happy Café, located at Ground, 3, Lan Fond Rd, Causeway Bay, the sweet bread is a must-try.
Pia's tips: Pair it with a Hong Kong milk tea for a truly local breakfast.
Getting around - Mid-Levels Escalator:
This is the longest covered open-air escalator in the world. Located in Mid-Levels, Central, it crosses the city and allows you to explore the different districts without getting too tired. It's a unique way to soak up the atmosphere of Hong Kong.
Pia's tips: Climb to the top and then walk back down to discover the hidden alleyways and trendy little cafés in the area.
Lunch at Din Tai Fung:
The steamed ravioli with broth at Din Tai Fung, located at Shop 306, 30 Canton Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, are an institution. Melt-in-the-mouth, tasty, served in a warm atmosphere... it's hard not to want more.
Pia's Tips: Try with black vinegar and ginger to bring out all the flavours.
By Sake San x Sushi Hanami :
For an omakase experience, where the chef prepares a selection of sushi directly for you, this address at 66-72 Fashion Walk C & D Ground Floor Shops is a nugget. Ultra-fresh products and an intimate setting.
Pia's Tips: Book in advance, the best counter seats go fast!
Afternoon at Repulse Bay:
Need a break from the hustle and bustle? Head to Repulse Bay, a peaceful beach lined with cafés, ideal for a relaxing moment with your feet in the sand.
Pia's Tips: Go at the end of the day for a magnificent sunset over the ocean.
Visit the Ladies' Market:
A must in Hong Kong, located in Rue Toung Choi, Mong Kok. Clothing, souvenirs, accessories, you name it! The perfect opportunity to bring back a few treasures from your trip.
Pia's Tips: Be prepared to bargain, it's almost like a game here !
Dragon's Back hike:
An easy hike offering one of the best views of the south coast at Big Wave Bay Road, Shek O. A breath of fresh air before returning to the buzzing energy of the city.
Pia's Tips: Take water with you and leave early to avoid the heat.
Aperitif at Louise's:
A hidden terrace, a tropical atmosphere, a glass of wine... Perfect for relaxing at the end of the day in an elegant and warm setting located at PMQ - Stauton, 35 Aberdeen St, Central.
Pia's Tips: Try their signature cocktails, they're incredible.
Dinner at Madame Fu:
An address that mixes Cantonese and Western cuisine, all in an atypical location: located at Shop 03-101a, blk 3 No.10 Hollywood Rd, Centralune, it's a former prison converted into a restaurant with incredible charm.
Pia's Tips: Perfect for dinner with friends or a meal on the terrace.
End the evening at Aubrey - Mandarin Oriental:
A spectacular rooftop, breathtaking views, sophisticated cocktails... The perfect place to end the evening admiring the Hong Kong skyline, located at 5 Connaught Road, Central.
Pia's Tips: Order a yuzu-based cocktail for a refreshing Japanese touch.
